Register a business phone number

Numbers can only be registered through the API, not WhatsApp Manager. Add and verify the number first, then register it here.

Register number

If two-step verification is already on, enter the existing 6-digit PIN. If it is not on, enter a new 6-digit PIN to create one.

Phone number ID

From WhatsApp Manager or App Dashboard → WhatsApp → API Setup. Config default is pre-filled.

Two-step verification PIN

Required. If you forgot the PIN, reset it in WhatsApp Manager first.

Local storage region (optional)

Once enabled, you cannot change or disable local storage without deregistering first.

Register and deregister are limited to 10 requests per number in a rolling 72-hour window. Exceeding that returns error 133016 and blocks the number for 72 hours.

Before you register

Add the business number to your WhatsApp Business account in WhatsApp Manager.
Verify ownership of the number in WhatsApp Manager.
Register it here. This cannot be done in WhatsApp Manager or the App Dashboard.

Use this after account creation, and again after a display-name change is approved. Re-registering before name-change approval has no effect.

The access token stays on the server from config.php. Solution Partner tokens need whatsapp_business_management and whatsapp_business_messaging.
